Hey Locals!

Have you dug your car out yet? This week has been a lot—ice, cold, no school or delays and somehow we’re already staring at another packed weekend. First off…Happy Black History Month…I am celebrating all month long!

Between Galentine’s, Super Bowl Sunday, and everything in between, there’s no excuse to stay home. And tomorrow is my birthday, so definitely have a drink for me (water… or anything else 😉).

Every year on my birthday, my biggest wish is the same.

Instead of gifts, I ask you to donate to my favorite charity.

This year, I’m supporting , an organization that gives personalized birthday parties to kids experiencing homelessness. Every child deserves to feel celebrated, even if life looks very different right now.

I cannot image not celebrating my birthday nor having a place I call home so I love what this non-profit stands for and how they help. If you were planning to buy me a coffee, send flowers, or just say happy birthday—this is the best gift you could give. Even $5 makes a difference.

This weekend includes one of my favorite free events of the year. I always leave with new dance moves, bags full of goodies, and motivation to take better care of myself.

Speaking of healthy—I checked out the soft opening of a brand new spa in Columbia, and I was obsessed.

They offer massages (couples too), facials, and wellness treatments, but the biggest news is that they’re officially opening today. If you mention @itssummerssomewhere at your appointment, you’ll get a complimentary sheet mask during your visit.

Most people have never heard of Savage Mill…but it’s one of my favorite locations in Maryland.

They have small independant owned businesses with many of them being woman-owned and/or black-owned. There is so much to do but one of there best days is Girls Night Out. They do it quarterly so if you can’t make it, plan for one in 3 months!

Savage Mill is open daily between 10am-6pm. Here’s some of the things you can do there. Double check online for hours as the tasting room is only open on weekends.

We did a cooking class at Schola in Baltimore and had a great time. We went for Steak night but made Onion Rings, Twice Baked Potatoes, Brussel Sprouts, Bacon, Salad with Home Made Blue Cheese Dressing and Steak! It was a feast for everyone and we made new friends in the process. They have all different types of cooking classes on multiple dates.
