Hey Locals! 👋🏽

I’m not even going to lie… this might be one of the busiest weekends we’ve had in a minute.

Like… multiple events happening at the same time where you’re gonna wish you could clone yourself 😅

So instead of stressing about what to do…

I already did the hard part for you.

What to Expect This Edition:

  • A summer pass that might actually be worth it 👀

  • A free festival you don’t want to miss

  • A HUGE kids consignment sale (this one is a gem)

  • Mother’s Day ideas before everything sells out

Quick weather check so you can plan your outfits accordingly…
(because yes, it matters this weekend 👀

Real quick — if you’re not following @ItsSomewhereLocal yet…

that’s where I drop last-minute plans, pop-ups, and things that don’t always make the newsletter.

Follow now so you don’t miss the good stuff.

This Might Be the Easiest Summer Plan You’ll Make

If you’re like me and already thinking about how to keep the kids entertained all summer…

this might actually solve that problem.

We go to Great Wolf Lodge all the time, and now that Maryland has one, it’s an easy day trip — no hotel needed.

Rain? Too hot? Doesn’t matter.

You still get a full “summer day” without stressing.

The Details:

  • Runs May 1 – August 31

  • $140/person = unlimited weekdays

  • $400/person = unlimited access (weekends included, no blackout dates)

  • Not sure you’ll go a lot? Day passes start at $50/person

Honestly… if you go more than 2–3 times, it pays for itself.

I need your opinion on something real quick…

I initially started off my content journey to share fun travel across the globe and then when I started posting local things I loved….it gained an audience and so I continued to share. I love being a Maryland girl but there are just so many fun things to do in DC so I share those too. I want to know for real though…do you want to see fun DC events or prefer to just stay in Maryland? It’s alot of work researching and finding what I think you will enjoy so I only want to provide what you are looking for.

Do you actually want DC content… or do you want me to stay focused on Maryland?

And if you ARE going into going to DC this weekend…
this is the one event I would pick.

Around the World Embassy Tour (May 2)

Free food. Cultural performances. You can literally “travel” to multiple countries in one day.

If you don’t want to waste time, go straight to these (You will probably only get to 5-7 in a day)

  • Mexico

  • Kenya

  • Barbados

  • South Korea

  • Thailand

  • Dominican Republic

If you have kids… don’t skip this.

Wee Sale Consignment April 28 - May 3 (Gambrills, MD) 🆓

If you need kids summers clothes, toys, bikes, books or baby items…this is the place to go. I walked out with a full summer wardrobe for my kids and a bike for a low price. Consignment shopping is my favorite way to shop because these kids grow so quickly, who wants to spend a ton of money on all of these items.

Did I mention it’s free to get in? See hours and address here.

Want free fun and somewhere to get a good Mother’s Day gift? Baltimore Flower Mart is here. (Happening in DC too) May 1-2

Go grab some unique locally grown flowers, food or take a workshop all while listening to performers and enjoying the Mt Vernon area. It’s free to attend and enjoy. Details here.

🔴 Highly Recommend and I have been or will be going

If you’re a local business trying to get in front of real people who actually go out and spend money… this is for you.

Every week, I connect 10,000+ Maryland & DC locals with things to do, places to go, and businesses worth showing up for.

And now I’m opening up a few spots for brands who want to be part of that.

Whether you’re:
• a family-friendly spot
• date night experience
• event, service, or hidden gem
• or just want more people walking through your doors

I can help you get in front of the right audience.

If you found something helpful, fun, or worth trying — forward this to a friend who always says “there’s nothing to do around here.”

And if you want these ideas showing up in your inbox every week…

You already know where to be 😉

Talk next week,
Lisa
