This weekend is Memorial day and there are so many events happening! The biggest ones are Artscape, Sowebo, Black PrideDC but the full list is below!

This weekend is special to me because it’s the weekend I became a Summers!

14 years ago on May 26, 2012 I married my husband, Tony, on the Baltimore harbor!

Our story: I met Tony on Tagged.com which was a dating website. After speaking, we realized we only live 4 blocks apart! We went on our first date to Security Square Mall in 2010, where we shot pool and went to eat in the food court. I almost ended things because he didn’t pay for my food (Subway) at the food court. He redeemed himself saying he wanted to keep hanging out and we went to the movies, where he paid for the tickets and snacks too. We make the joke the he may have missed his wife all over Subway sandwich 🤣.

We have 16 years together! 14 married, making memories, raising children and now entrepreneurs. Life has had it’s twists and turns but we are still here, happy and more in love than ever!

For our anniversary we give the gift of a new experiences instead of material items each year. This year we will be flying in a helicopter for the first time ever, over Baltimore city. Stay tuned to my stories as I will share this experience. I can’t lie, I am so nervous as helicopters are small but I hear the view is fantastic up there so we are going to do it!

Although we have been married for so long we hard to find other couples who are married or been in a long-term committed relationship too. I have been thinking about doing a quarterly meetup for couples where we pick a place and you just show up. Would this be something you are interested in? There are so many meetups for singles, young adults or mothers but what about couples? We believe that relationships need connection and friendships too. Let me know if you would participate in this type of event below.

Sandy Point State Park and Greenbrier State Park will now require reservations on weekends and Holidays to visit the park/beach. You can reserve up to 7 days prior online. This is a major change to how things have been but should also cut down on overcrowding and long lines to get in. What do you think about this?
