Have you ever been relaxed and anxious at the same time?

I know that I am now and it’s for good reason.

Last week, a pipe in our bathroom burst and flooded not just one—but both—bathrooms in our home. The water crept into the walls, floors, and even part of our bedroom. Now we’re living in what feels like a construction zone with industrial fans humming in every room, walls torn apart, and no clear timeline for when insurance will step in. My family and I have been “camping” in the family room, sleeping on mattresses on the floor and trying to keep our spirits up while our house looks like a DIY show gone wrong.

But in the middle of all that chaos, I had a much-needed moment of calm: a weekend stay at the Four Seasons Baltimore with my daughter and a friend who brought her daughter too. We booked a cabana by the pool, took full advantage of the spa, and walked just five minutes to the Kidz Bop concert at Pier 6 without dealing with traffic or parking. That kind of convenience? I might start making post-event hotel stays a thing.

The contrast between that luxurious escape and the mess I came home to isn’t lost on me. But here’s the thing—I’m learning to hold both: the calm and the crazy, the mess and the magic. And I truly believe there’s a rainbow on the other side of all this. Hopefully, it looks like a brand-new bathroom and a home that feels even better than before.

Until then, I’m choosing to see the good—even if it’s through the dust.

As far as events, I got some amazing events to share for August but I will save that for next week! As there are a ton of events this weekend below.
