Is it just me or did everything decide to happen this weekend?

Between festivals, concerts, and events popping up all over the DMV, this is one of those weekends where the hardest part isn’t finding something to do… it’s choosing what not to do.

From chicken wings to oysters to wine festivals—and yes, the Black Moms Fair in Bowie—there’s a little something for everybody.

So if you’ve been saying “we need to get out the house”… this is your sign.

DC is doing Emancipation Day BIG this Sunday, April 19th.

We’re talking:

Parade at 1:30pm
Live performances all day into the night
Backyard Band + full lineup bringing the energy

Also—quick heads up:
Usher and Chris Brown are both coming to the DMV this summer 👀 so yes… concert season is officially here. Get your squad together as they will be at the commanders stadium July 10 and 11th.

TMZ is in DC. The reporters people love to hate are now in DC chasing down stories of politicians and DC lifestyles. I just read that the person who sent the video of Ray Rice in the elevator to TMZ got paid 100K so I am definitely on the look out for anything happening in DC…that comes with a payout lol.
Self Driving Cars are out in Maryland - Maryland lawmakers failed to pass legislation in the 2026 session required to regulate and authorize fully autonomous vehicles like Waymo. They have been in the city mapping out the roads for months but Maryland is not allowing a full pass on them just yet.
New Speeding device law just passed in Maryland. If you are a repeat offender of speeding, you will be required to add a part to your car that can slow down or stop your vehicle at anytime.

I know a lot of you have been asking—and don’t worry, I got you.

Festival lists, outdoor movies, wine events… all of that is coming soon.
So make sure you’re locked in because we’re about to be outside for real.

Earth Day Reset - April 22nd

Pick a scenic spot (trail, waterfront, quiet park—even your neighborhood if we’re being real) and turn a regular walk into a reset.

Grab a coffee or drink
Put on a podcast or soft music for the first half
Walk with no phone the second half
Sit for 10 minutes and just be (journal optional)

Bonus:
Bring a small bag and pick up trash along your route.
