April 9 - April 15, 2026

This Week You Should:

  • Celebrate 410 Day 🧡

  • DC Nature Spring Break Week

  • Fishing for Kids

  • File those taxes (don’t wait till the last minute 😅)

  • Take advantage of Library Week (trust me on this one 👀)

Hey Locals! 👋🏽

Welcome to spring where the weather is warm one day and freezing the next. It’s looking like a clear weekend with temps high of 68 with clear skies. That’s why Friday is the perfect day to celebrate 410 day and take advantage of the offerings city wide.

The MTA is doing something really cool to celebrate 410 day by giving out free tickets to the Orioles game AND offering a free roundtrip transit passes + concession credits during the game for select neighborhoods.

👉🏾 If you live in the city, this is your sign to take advantage.
👉🏾 If not, tickets start as low as $19 so you can still join in.

Check here to see if you area is eligible for the free tickets for this weeks game.

There are some really good events this weekend…

…but also a quick life reminder: this is the LAST week to file taxes.

Don’t let fun distract you from that 😅 — get it done so you can actually enjoy your weekend stress-free.

Alright, now let’s get into the good stuff 👇🏾

Fishing Season - Know any kids who would love to learn? This is the time.

April is Autism Awareness Month

I read that 1 in 31 kids are diagnosed with autism—and I think it’s important we talk about it more, because it affects so many families in our community.

So this week, I wanted to highlight a local Maryland mom doing something really special.

Her son Caleb has autism, and instead of letting that limit his experiences, she made it her mission to show what’s possible.

She shares their travel journey + real-life experiences on Instagram at @Austismspectrumadventures.—and it’s honestly inspiring to see.

If you’re looking for tips, perspective, or just a reminder of what’s possible, go give her a follow ❤️

Shoutout to Brown Family

Here are the events I cannot wait for in April

  • May 9: Mother’s Day Adidas Party (Baltimore)

Visit the Library

April 6-12 is National Library Week

When’s the last time you’ve been to the library? I must admit I hadn’t been in a while but during spring break, we have been going. They have so much to offer at the library and I don’t think people know what they are missing.

Did you know you can get all of this with just a free library card?

With a FREE library card, you can:

  • Record a podcast (yes… actual podcast rooms 👀)

  • Get help with resumes, business ideas, or legal questions

  • Attend workshops and classes

  • Stream movies + shows for free (Kanopy + Hoopla)

  • Borrow laptops, tablets, and Wi-Fi hotspots

  • Use makerspaces with 3D printers, sewing machines, and more

  • Book meeting rooms or coworking space

  • Even attend rooftop go go concerts (DC library 👀)

👉🏾 This is one of those things people don’t talk about enough—and it’s completely free.

If you’ve been saying you want to try something new or be more productive…

The Library is it!
